Clearview ASP Client Utilities

Below is a brief overview of the route the data from the POS travels to make it accessible to you from the Clearview ASP server:

  1. Data from the POS register is gathered and stored on the back office computer. Note: The software required to perform this is provided by the POS vendor.
  2. The data is then formatted into a Clearview-compatible file (called an import file). Clearview has a defined import file and thus the ability to accept data from virtually any POS system. QSS provides format software for the following POS types (if yours is not listed contact your POS dealer or QSS to determine availability):
    • Aloha
    • Comtrex
    • Micros 3700
    • Panasonic (MWS, Power, SMP)
    • Partech (GT6.52 series)
    • Progressive
    • RDS (Wedge & Next Generation)
    • Wand (v9.x)
  3. The import file needs to be transferred to the Clearview ASP. QSS provides FTP software to perform this task.
  4. The import file is processed by the Clearview ASP which loads the information into your database.
  5. You connect to the internet, login to the Clearview ASP (using your browser), and work with your data

To facilitate the preceding route, Clearview utility programs are installed locally on your computer. The necessary programs have been divided into software packages based on your POS type. You will only need to download the package that applies to you:

  • Aloha POS - Includes both data format and FTP software
  • Comtrex POS - Includes both data format and FTP software
  • Micros - Includes both data format and FTP software
  • Panasonic POS - Includes both data format and FTP software
  • Partech POS - Includes both data format and FTP software
  • Progressive - Includes both data format and FTP software
  • RDS Wedge POS - Includes both data format and FTP software
  • Wand 9.x POS - Includes both data format and FTP software
  • Other POS - Includes FTP software only. Formatting software MUST be obtained from your POS dealer

Notes:
  • If Clearview 3.0 single-user version is currently installed on the PC, it is necessary to uninstall it before installing the ASP Client Utilities. The software can be installed by running Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel.
  • Please contact Quick Service Software (1-888-778-3950) if you have a prior version of Clearview installed. Information from your database will need to be imported into the ASP server database.
