The Schedule Variance Report - Details compares the employee work schedules created with the time cards clocked, and reports on the difference.
The Schedule Variance Report - Details page is reached by clicking on a store name in the Schedule Variance report.
For best results, ensure that the start time for the variance report is the same as that for time card reports.

The following information is displayed on the page for the Area*, Store, Period, Job, Employee and Filter selected:

The Clock Tolerance can be set to indicate which punch-in and punch-out times are earlier or later by more than the tolerance set, when compared to the schedule.
Don't forget to click on the Go button after changing the Clock Tolerance, for the change to take effect in the report.

Use Actual Times will use the actual clock-in The recorded time at which an employee started work. and clock-out The recorded time at which an employee ended work. times without rounding them up.

Missed Shift: The number of shifts scheduled but not clocked by the scheduled employee, during the report period. The brackets contains the total number of hours that were scheduled in the missed shifts.

Click on Missed Shift and then on Filter By from the drop-down list, to display only missed shifts in the report.

Click on Missed Shift and then on Recommended to view the Missed Shift - Recommended Report. Depending on the time card entry system that you use and your employee schedule, CLEARVIEW can determine shifts that were missed and recommend them for creation.

Unscheduled Shifts: The number of shifts clocked by an employee, but not scheduled, during the report period. The brackets contains the total number of hours that were clocked but not scheduled.
Click on Unscheduled Shifts and then on Filter By from the drop-down list, to display only unscheduled shifts.

Scheduled Hours: The total number of hours scheduled during the period.
Scheduled Hours will not include unpaid breaks if the Unpaid break adjustment is set to Yes.

Actual Hours: The total number of labour hours clocked by employees during the period.

Variance: The difference between the total number of labour hours clocked by employees and the total number of scheduled hours.
Variance = Actual Hours - Scheduled Hours
Click on Variance and select an option from the drop-down list to filter Drop-down boxes that let you select from the options available. the report:

Variance in hours will display only records that have a variance in the hours clocked.

Variance in cost will display only records that have a variance in the employee cost.

Variance in hours/cost will display only records have a variance in either the hours or employee cost.

Est. Cost: The estimated employee cost for the scheduled hours based on the pay rate for each job scheduled.

Actual Cost: The actual employee cost for the hours clocked based on the pay rate for the jobs clocked.

Variance: The difference between the estimated employee cost for the scheduled hours and the actual employee cost for the hours clocked.

Reporting from/to: The period for which the report was generated.

Job: The job that the employee was scheduled for.

Scheduled:
Unscheduled shift appears across the Scheduled columns if there's a time card clocked for an employee, but no shift scheduled for that employee.

Start: The time at which the employee was scheduled to start their shift.
A next to the start time indicates that the time listed is actually the start of the period for which the report was generated, and the shift was scheduled to start before the start time indicated.

End: The time at which the employee was scheduled to end their shift.
A next to the end time indicates that the time listed is actually the end of the period for which the report was generated, and the shift was scheduled to end after the end time indicated.

Paid Hours: The total work hours scheduled for the shift, less unpaid breaks, during the report period.
Scheduled Paid Hours = Schedule End - Schedule Start - any unpaid breaks

Est. Cost: The projected cost of labour for the shift, based on the scheduled hours.
