Recipes

Recipes at CLEARVIEW are a set of elements (ingredients) and the quantities that make up a menu item or sub-recipe A recipe that's also included as an element in another recipe.. Recipes lets you find and view details of your organization's recipes.

To access Recipes settings:

Click on on the quick links Located at the top right corner of a page, it contains icons that allow you to quickly access important pages. bar from any page.
In the Settings window:

Settings associated to a page automatically show in the List box. If the setting that you want to access is in the List box, you can skip step a.
1. Select Inventory from the Filter drop-down list.
2. Click on Recipes from the List box in the left pane.

The elements included in a recipe are usually inventory items, but can also include other recipes (called sub-recipes). Any recipe is also called a sub-recipe A recipe that's also included as an element in another recipe. if it's included as an element in a recipe.

Recipes are different from menu items, as not all recipes will form a menu item. However, recipes can be mapped to menu items, which helps track the theoretical inventory usage through sales of the menu items.

Use the filters Drop-down boxes that let you select from the options available. in the Find a Recipe box to find recipes.

To display all the recipes, simply click on the Find button without entering anything or selecting from any of the drop-down lists.

The following information is displayed on the settings page for the filters Drop-down boxes that let you select from the options available. set:

ID: The unique reference number assigned to the recipe for easy identification.
Recipe Description: The name of the recipe.
Lang Description* (where Lang is the language set in your user profile): The name of the recipe in the language indicated.
Element*: The inventory items and sub-recipes included in the recipe.
Units*: The quantity of inventory item or sub-recipe A recipe that's also included as an element in another recipe. included in the recipe.
Measure*: The unit of measurement in which the units of the element is displayed.
Assumption*: The element of a sales assumption category that's mapped to the recipe element.

Find a Recipe

Go to Recipes settings.
If the Find a Recipe box is not displayed on the page, click on .
Use one or more of the filters Drop-down boxes that let you select from the options available. below to find a recipe:
- Enter the name or part of the name of the recipe in Recipe Description.
- Select a sales assumption category element from the Containing Assumption drop-down list.
  
  The list is displayed in the form of <sales assumption category> - <element>.
- Enter the name or part of the name of an inventory item that's included in the recipe in Containing Product.
  
  The inventory item doesn't have to be a direct element of the recipe and could be an element of a sub-recipe A recipe that's also included as an element in another recipe. in the recipe.
- Enter the name or part of the name of a sub-recipe A recipe that's also included as an element in another recipe. that's included in the recipe in Containing Sub Recipe.
  
  The sub-recipe A recipe that's also included as an element in another recipe. doesn't have to be a direct element of the recipe and could be a sub-recipe A recipe that's also included as an element in another recipe. at some level of the sub-recipes.
- Select from the Directly Linked to Menu Item drop-down list:
  
  Directly linked indicates that the recipe itself is mapped to a menu item regardless of whether any of the sub-recipes are linked to a menu item.
  - Select Yes to display only recipes that are directly mapped to one or more menu items.
  - Select No to display only recipes that are not directly mapped to one or more menu items.
  - Select Not Selected to show all results regardless of whether the recipes are mapped to a menu item or not.
- Select the POS system Point Of Sale system - the system/register used to bill customers and track sales. that contains the menu item that the recipe is directly mapped to, from the POS Map* drop-down list.
  
  The POS Map drop-down list is activated only if Directly Linked to Menu Item is set to Yes.
- Place a checkmark next to Show only master recipes to display only recipes that include the containing product or containing sub-recipe A recipe that's also included as an element in another recipe. as a direct element.
  The Show only master recipes checkbox is activated only if the Containing Product or Containing Sub Recipe fields are filled in.
  - Show only master recipes together with Containing Product will display only recipes that include the inventory item as a direct element.
  - Show only master recipes together with Containing Sub Recipe will display only recipes that include the sub-recipe A recipe that's also included as an element in another recipe. as a direct element.
Place a checkmark next to Show Alternate Language to view the names of the recipes in your preferred language.

Place a checkmark next to Display full recipe in results to view the elements, units, measures and sales assumptions included of the recipe on the results page itself.
Click on the Find button.

Contact your CLEARVIEW Support Team to create, edit and delete recipes, and to map them to menu items.
